Shahrir membuat seruan itu menjelang mesyuarat Majlis Kerja Tertinggi Umno petang ini yang berlangsung di tengah perkembangan terkini politik ketika kerajaan bertembung dengan Yang di-Pertuan Agong berhubung isu pemansuhan ordinan darurat.
