Or it could've been because Vampire Survivors was an early access game which allowed it plenty of time to improve.

Accidentally? It sounds pretty intentional.

IMO, mobile version wasn't even nearly as playable as console or PC versions. I mean, at first you'd think this would be ideal game for mobile? I thought so too. But it wasn't. It's almost impossible to do quick turns. It's like trying to steer a cruise ship. 👇
