PETALING JAYA: The decision by MCA and MIC to stay out of the Aug 12 state elections has inadvertently exposed a crack in the government coalition, claims a former leader of MIC.

S Sunther said the decision of the two Barisan Nasional parties showed that Pakatan Harapan could do without the help of MCA and MIC to secure the support of non-Malay voters.Sunther, the son of former MIC deputy president S Subramaniam, said he believed that DAP is confident of pulling the Chinese votes without MCA’s backing, as shown by the voting pattern at the 2022 general election. “Likewise, PKR and DAP don’t need MIC’s support to woo Indian voters.
