PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,356 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 1), says the Health Ministry.

According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 2,351 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 5 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,784,980 cases since the pandemic began. A total of 9 deaths were recorded on Thursday with 3 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,225.
