JOHOR BARU: The Johor government has allocated RM4.15mil to all assemblymen and state constituency special coordination committees (JPKD) to better assist those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, says Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

On top of federal allocations, the state government had implemented various initiatives and efforts to lighten the burden of the people, especially through its Ihsan Johor economic stimulus packages, he said.

“In the first Ihsan Johor economic stimulus package, the state government gave all 56 assemblymen RM20,000 each. “Last year, the state government decided to triple the allocations for assemblymen to RM150,000 from RM50,000 under Johor Budget 2021. “We realise many people still need assistance, so we are channelling another RM50,000 to the assemblymen and JKPDs, so that they can help the needy in their respective areas,” he said in a statement on Thursday .

Hasni hopes the additional funding would enable the assemblymen and JPKDs to help more people who have been affected by the pandemic.
