PUTRAJAYA: One Covid-19 case was reported among flood victims, bringing the number of cases to 461, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham AbdullahHe said there were no new clusters at evacuation centres on Monday , with only one cluster reported so far.Dr Noor Hisham said of the 2,690 new cases reported, 300 were imported cases involving 278 Malaysians and 22 foreigners.

“The Health Ministry reported three new clusters, bringing the number of active clusters to 206,” he said in a statement on Monday.Dr Noor Hisham said that 265 cases required treatment in the intensive care units, of which 188 are Covid-19 confirmed patients, 77 suspected, probable and cases under investigation.“A total of 2,638 patients or 98.1% are those in categories 1 and 2,” he said.

The Covid-19 infectivity rate or R-nought in Malaysia for Jan 2 was 0.99, with Johor showing the highest at 1.01 followed by Kelantan and Pahang .The rest were community clusters , import , educational institutions and one cluster each involving a high-risk group, religious activity and detention centre.
