PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 84 total Covid-19 fatalities on Tuesday (Oct 26), including backlog cases, bringing the cumulative number of deaths due to the coronavirus to 28,576 since the pandemic began.

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow website and GitHub data repository, the number of brought-in-dead cases recorded on Tuesday was 20, bringing the total to 5,771.On Oct 26, Malaysia reported 5,726 new Covid-19 cases and 5,607 recoveries.

The number of active infections currently stands at 73,258 cases, where 77.1% are those with mild infections and undergoing home quarantine.Some 9.0% of active Covid-19 cases, or 6,610 individuals, are in hospital due to Covid-19, of which 584 are in intensive care units.States with less than 50% ICU utilisation rate are Kedah at 50.0%, Pahang , Sabah , and Labuan .Article type: metered
