KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty-four new clusters were identified on Friday (Sept 3), bringing the number of active clusters nationwide to 1,476.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 20 of the clusters were workplace clusters, eight were community clusters, four were high-risk clusters, one education cluster and one religious cluster involving 1,109 cases.

"A total of 72 cases were identified within the high-risk clusters, while 24 cases and 13 cases were recorded within the education and religious clusters respectively," he said in a statement on Friday.The clusters recorded in Johor are the Industri Permas Barat, Tapak Bina Lebuh Kota Iskandar, Jalan Tembaga Ulu Pulai, Jalan Kulai Kota Tinggi, Jalan Sri Sulong Empat, Jalan Padang Lalang Tangkak, Industri Desa Tropika Satu and Jalan Padi Satu clusters.

Dr Noor Hisham said in Pahang, the Industri Batu Tiga Raub and Kampung Pian Temerloh clusters were detected, while in Perak, the Jalan Bandar Intan, Kampung Changkat Belulang and Batu 30 clusters were also recorded on Friday.
