PUTRAJAYA: Another 174 more people in Malaysia have died to Covid-19, says the Health Ministry.

In his daily Covid-19 statement on Thursday , Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 8,725 in the country have died since the pandemic began.Selangor had the most number of fatalities with 70 cases reported in the state, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 20 deaths.Sabah and Terengganu had eight death cases each, Perak had tree, Kelantan had two and Pahang had one.

Some 28 deaths in the country have been classified as “brought-in-dead” cases - including 13 in Selangor.Currently, 1,043 patients are in intensive care units , with 531 on ventilator support.Dr Noor Hisham said only 383 of the new cases are those in the more severe Category 3, 4, and 5.Selangor remained the state with the most cases, recording 7,163 new infections.Another 3,127 cases are sporadic cases, while only 84 are linked to clusters. Selangor also reported three import cases.
