KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 163 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been identified at Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur after more than a week of testing among workers at the vegetables, fruits and fish sections.

Kuala Lumpur Fruits Wholesalers’ Association president Chin Nyuk Moy said test results for workers at the fruit section had been completed.

"We are the last batch of workers that had undergone the testing and five of the workers here were infected with the virus."Some of the suppliers who had interacted with us had also undergone swab tests and two came back positive," she said. Meanwhile, 65 workers from the vegetable section and 93 workers from the fish section tested positive for Covid-19.

The fruits and vegetable section of the wholesale market will be closed until this Sunday and reopens on Monday . Hoi Seong Fish Wholesaler Association president Sing Kian Hock confirmed that 57 stalls had to be closed as the workers had been infected.
