PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 12 new cases on Monday (Aug 7), of which 10 are local cases.

Seven of the local cases were from the Tawar cluster, while two were related to the Sala cluster, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement.

One of the local cases is related to a screening-of-symptoms case which was recorded in Sungai Buloh Hospital.Cumulatively, the country has now recorded a total of 9,212 infections. Dr Noor Hisham also said 17 more cases had been discharged, which means 8,876 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.The number of active cases is now 211 cases.

Currently, there are eight people being treated in intensive care units , of which two patients are on ventilator support.Article type: metered
