This follows a police report made over the video, Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said when contacted on Tuesday .
In the 5min and 53sec video uploaded on Facebook, the couple made several claims about the service and conditions at the lodge and said they had to wait for a long time for their dinner to be served. They also claim that the owner, a Datuk in the area, turned down their request for a refund and used a derogatory term against them.“We have opened an investigation under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he added.

As a result of the video, the hotel and its owner was cyber bullied. Couple could have gone to the KPDNHEP and tourism ministry to lodge a complaint but they decided to take this to the public. A lesson in how making viral videos is dangerous and unpredictable in consequences.
