A tougher, two-jab rule will kick in towards the end of the year, according to a source.

Health officials are expected to reveal details of the vaccine pass extension, aimed at those aged five to 11 years, later in the afternoon.

“The implementation of the scheme will begin in the later part of the year, and the grace period will be long enough for children to get vaccinated,” the insider said.Currently, those aged 12 or above are required to be triple-vaccinated to enter most premises citywide. The source added that upon full implementation of the extended scheme, the five-to-11 age group would need at least two doses of either the German-produced BioNTech vaccine or Chinese-made Sinovac shot to qualify.
