KUALA LUMPUR: The allocations for the police in Budget 2023 are welcome - especially the new unit to tackle child pornography, says Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani

"It will have a positive impact in combating child pornography," said the Inspector-General of Police.

Acryl Sani added that it was timely that the unit is being formed under the Bukit Aman CID Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division . He added that the funding to boost the National Scam Response Cente is also welcome as the RM10mil operation grant will strengthen efforts to curb online scams.

"The allocation will surely improve the NSRC's curbing of scams and assisting victims of scammers," he added. Acryl Sani also said that the police force is grateful for the RM18.5bil allocation for the Home Ministry to solidify efforts to maintain public order and internal security.Among the allocations were RM1bil to strengthen agencies under the Home Ministry including acquiring 2,100 body cameras for the police and RM450mil for building a new Perak police headquarters and new police quarters.
