PETALING JAYA: The police are investigating a viral video of a group of people dancing in what appears to be at a hotel ballroom in apparent breach of standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the movement control order.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharuddin Mat Taib said the event is believed to have taken place in April."We will check further," he said when contacted Sunday .

In the video, a few people could be seen dancing and standing close to each other with some not wearing face masks. A photo of the event schedule was also uploaded, which alleged that the event took place at a hotel in Shah Alam from April 28-30, when the country was recording a continuous rise in the number of Covid-19 cases daily.

Many slammed the participants as being irresponsible for not taking the required safeguards like wearing face masks and observing physical distancing, while others called for police to take action.

The question to ask is 'whether the incident caused or increased the possibility of spread of the virus'. Reckless snob. Spend your time to do better things, help the Rakyat instead of burdening them
