PETALING JAYA: Police are to call up the organisers of the Ummah rally was held in Kuala Lumpur earlier today for not providing them with all the necessary documents required by law.
“The organisers did give the police a notice as required under the Peaceful Assembly Act,” he told FMT. “But in the same Act, supporting documents are needed,” he said. “So, the notice provided was not complete.” Fahmi said the rally went out without a hitch, with no unwanted incidents taking place throughout the entire rally. No arrests were made, he added.
A spokesperson for Ummah has since acknowledged that DBKL had not responded to their application for the rally, according to Malaysiakini.
