TANGKAK: Police are on the hunt for an ethnic Rohingya man after he escaped from the Magistrate’s Court lock-up here.

Tangkak OCPD Supt Mohd Fadhil Minhat said the 32-year-old suspect escaped through the main entrance of the courthouse at around 11.55am on Wednesday before his hearing.

“The proceeding was supposed to begin at 10am but the court stood down while waiting for the suspect’s lawyer. Supt Mohd Fadhil added that four police personnel and the court security guards chased the suspect but he managed to run towards the woods. “I urge the public to keep a look out for the suspect and those with information should immediately contact the police.
