GEORGE TOWN: Two police raids in Seberang Jaya and Bukit Tambun have crippled a drug trafficking syndicate with RM1mil in cash and assets seized, says state police chief Comm Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan.

Five people, including a mule, were arrested during Ops Covid-19 between 6.30pm last Friday and noon the following day.

During the raid, police confiscated 6.05kg of heroin, 8.07g of ganja, 4.9g of syabu, 1.12g of ketamin and 16 pills of erimin 5 pills worth RM55,497. “We also seized two vehicles worth RM149,500 and an assortment of jewellery worth RM26,487, ” he said, adding that the syndicate was believed to have been active for the past two to three months.The five have been remanded for a week.
