The agency, under Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry , was set up to spearhead Malaysia's green technology uptake.
“Under Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre, we’ll also establish National Council of Climate Change Action as promised in the PH manifesto,” said its Minister Yeo Bee Yin, at the opening of the 10th International Conference on Green Technology and Eco Products 2019, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here today.
“In taking the path towards sustainable development, we need to ensure a clear balance of these 3 pillars – the economic growth, a resilient environment and the wellbeing of society,” said Dr Mahathir during his opening speech. Commenting on the process of setting up the council, Yeo said a coordinating body to lead the formation of the council would be established by the end of this year.
