KUANTAN: Civil servants in Pahang will take a pay cut in order to assist those affected by the movement control order during the Covid-19 pandemic.

State secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said about 10,000 civil servants, consisting of appointees of the Pahang government, local authorities and state statutory bodies were ready to donate part of their salaries to Tabung Covid-19 Pahang, which was launched by the Mentri Besar.

"Realising the difficulties faced by the people of Pahang, civil servants are called to help in carrying the burden.

Good idea. Question is: will they want to especially when they're used to getting more than what they're supposed to earn? TrustNoOne

This is not right!! It should be voluntary not compulsory. And voluntary means they have the right to decide and if not there should not be any repercussions. Where is MTUC or whatever union for civil servant. And this dude should donate all of his salary if he really care
