Mayor Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said City Hall was identifying flooding hotspots and monitoring whether the drains were functioning optimally.
Nor Hisham was asked whether a study had been conducted on how the city’s drains were coping in the wake of Tuesday’s massive floods, which crippled most of Kuala Lumpur’s thoroughfares. He added that City Hall would investigate the circumstances that led to cars being submerged in thoroughfares before it could establish whether it was responsible and should compensate the owners.
‘They will draw up a map on where flash floods occur and stagnant water pools to tackle them one by one. Developers will also be called up to reduce floods.’
