PETALING JAYA: Lee Chong Wei says he still hasn't made up his mind on retirement just yet.

The 36-year-old shuttler pleaded with all parties to give him some space as he contemplates his next move after his career was curtailed by nose cancer.

Chong Wei, a three-time Olympic silver medallist, has assured everyone that he will announce his retirement when the time is right."Just because I've been absent from training, everyone is trying to speculate."If I'm indeed retiring or there's other decisions made, I'll inform the press on my own. No one speaks on my behalf," he said.

Chong Wei has not played in any tournament since he was diagnosed with nose cancer in July last year. Chong Wei has also not been training since he last took a break in late April to travel to Taiwan for his follow-up consultation with the doctors. He was cleared from nose cancer in November. He resumed training in early January and spent the first few weeks in the gym to work on his fitness.

Malaysians must cut him some slack and be kinder with comments .... simply for the many sterling years he represented the country.

Not playing for so long is considered retired, old man.Just concentrate on your family sndclook after your help.

With due respect, I DOUBT there’s anybody urging you back to tournament. Perhaps only BAM. For your age, going to tournament is to win. Malaysians know you can’t now due to your health and lack of match fitness. Have all the time and space to take care of yourself.

spare yourself of imminent future defeats ... retire gracefully, like for example, Nicol David ... ☹☹☹
