Chinese state media citing Tayyip Erdogan says Turkey recognises that China's Xinjiang people comprising the Muslim Uighur community are living happy lives. FMTNews

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan makes a u-turn over the plight of the Muslim Uighur people and wants to maintain harmony in the Turkey-China relationship .

Turkey is the only Muslim nation to have regularly expressed concern about the situation in Xinjiang, including in February at the UN Human Rights Council, to China’s anger. “Turkey does not permit any person to incite disharmony in the Turkey-China relationship. Turkey firmly opposes extremism and is willing to increase mutual political trust with China and strengthen security cooperation.”
