KOTA KINABALU: Former Inanam assemblyman Kenny Chua says the authorities can check his bank accounts over allegations that he received huge sums of money to switch sides.

“But perhaps in all fairness, they should also call for an investigation on those elected representatives who switched sides to help Warisan form the state government in 2018, ” said the former Sabah assistant finance minister in a statement on Monday .Chua, who was sacked from PKR following his decision to support former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, said it would go against his principle to be part of the Warisan-led state government.

The attempt was foiled after Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal sought for the dissolution of the state legislative assembly to pave way for a snap election. He said it was critical for the state government to have money especially now when many people are suffering due to the Covid-19 pandemic and weak economy.
