Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador says he will consult the attorney-general about the rape case.
“I intend to have all those responsible be charged in court,” he told FMT. Hamid said he will consult the attorney-general on the matter. The Sarawak police chief has suspended the two policemen on duty and promised to conduct an in-depth investigation into the incident. “The failure to strictly comply with the lock-up rules, or bypassing them as in this case, has allowed abuses in the handling of those in custody,” he said.
