Once customers have enrolled and recorded their voice print, they don't have to provide details such as account name, last four digits of ID for the next time they call for enquiries or help.

According to an announcement on its, the company says the verification technology detects customers’ unique voices “to verify and identify the caller in a secured environment”.

To enrol, customers can call the Celcom Careline at 1111 to record their ‘voice print’. Its customer service consultant will guide customers through the process.The telco says all Celcom postpaid, prepaid and enterprise customers, as well as Home Wireless and Home Fibre subscribers, are eligible to enrol for voice biometrics.explains that customers will be able to use the voice biometrics service two hours after successful enrolment.

On security concerns, the company says voice biometrics is a “numerical representation of sound, pattern and rhythm of an individual’s voice” that is “as unique to an individual as a palm print or fingerprint”.
