The fifth-generation technology to be introduced in the country enables enhanced security monitoring in public places by the installation of high-tech surveillance cameras capable of recording in real time.
Celcom chief executive officer Idham Nawawi said the cameras, capable of capturing 360-degree panoramic images with 4K resolution had been installed at Jalan Pantai Cenang and Dataran Cenang as part of the ongoing 5G demonstration project. "This technology will help authorities like the police and customs to carry out more effective monitoring and action can be taken more quickly in criminal cases and so on," he toldCelcom is one of the telecommunications companies running the 5G technology demonstration project on the popular resort island.
