MELAKA: Cash will still be accepted in all Health Ministry facilities in Melaka after Oct 1, says state health and anti-drug committee chairman Dr Muhamad Akmal SalehHe said this was to make it easier for senior citizens to make payments at clinics and hospitals.
"We will not make it compulsory for cashless payments especially at the rural health facilities as many elderly folk have no access to debit cards, credit cards and e-wallets. “The state will maintain the conventional way of making payments as well as the cashless platform,” he said on Sunday .Dr Muhamad Akmal was responding to the Health Ministry's circular on cashless payment at all its facilities including clinics and hospitals from Oct 1.
According to the circular, a customer is only allowed to pay with cash if the said individual does not have a bank account or access to cashless payments.He said two of the patients were elderly and the rest were children.Article type: free
