KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — Selangor has now recorded its highest-ever contribution to Malaysia’s economic growth, with the latest official data showing that the state contributed 25.5 per cent in 2022 to Malaysia’s gross domestic product , caretaker Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said today.
Based on DOSM’s data published today, Selangor was the state with the biggest contribution to Malaysia’s economic growth in 2022 at 25.5 per cent, followed by Kuala Lumpur , Johor , Sarawak , Penang , Sabah , Perak , Pahang , Kedah , Negeri Sembilan , Melaka , Terengganu , Kelantan , Labuan , and Perlis .
Selangor is one of the four states or territories which recorded a higher economic growth last year when compared to the national growth, with Penang recording 13.1 per cent, Pahang and Kuala Lumpur .
