Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation senior vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the findings were based on statistics in the Drugs Information Book 2018 published by the National Anti-Drug Agency.
“Pahang also recorded the highest number of drug addicts and substance abusers per population which stood at 0.95 per cent followed by Kelantan and Perlis in the same year,” said Lee in his speech during the Anti-Drug Jihad Charity Run Programme here today. Lee also pointed out that the involvement of youths aged between 19 and 39 in drug and substance abuse activities, which constitute 69.3 per cent of the cases recorded in 2018, remains an alarming trend.
