: Elected representatives here are calling for action to curb the spread of fake news.

In another case, a medical officer was barred from entering his apartment complex when news spread that he was working at a hospital that had a Covid-19 patient. “To be on the safe side, everyone should also abide by the standard operating procedures and wear face masks, wash their hands frequently and practise social distancing,” he said.

Sim added the Health Ministry should strike a balance between keeping the identities of patients confidential and ensuring free flow of the right information to prevent panic.
