GEORGE TOWN: A delivery van carrying beer overturned and left crates of beer strewn all over the Penang Bridge on Sunday (Jan 2) morning.

In the 10am incident, the van driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the middle of the bridge while on its way to Prai.

A Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the driver of the van escaped with minor injuries and managed to climb out to safety. Only a partial portion of the road at the bridge was congested and it is learned that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
