France 's President Emmanuel Macron caused a stir when he did not exclude sending Western troops to Ukraine . However, Britain has only sent small units for medical training and does not foresee large-scale deployments.

French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu also mentioned that there are no plans for combat troops, but specific training or de-mining missions could be considered by Ukraine's allies
