NEW YORK, March 7 — Brent oil prices soared to a near 14-year high of US$140 today as traders fretted over the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The price per barrel of Brent oil has increased 33 per cent since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. By 0030 GMT, WTI crude was at US$125.15 per barrel, an 8.18 per cent increase from its closing price on Friday.
