You're more likely to see products with new tech as the years go. But sometimes, you run into some company wanting to do the opposite. Maybe they're banking on nostalgia, but whether that works is debatable.
In what seems to be a homage to the old Nokia 2660 Flip, Heineken and Bodega have teamed up to deliver what has been dubbed the"Boring Phone". This phone is a throwback to the days before smartphones, with functions and design to match. It does feel different due to the transparent casing. However, the design should be familiar to anyone who grew up in the early 2000s.
According to GSMArena, the phone has a 2.8-inch QVGA display with a small 240x320 resolution and a 1.77-inch cover screen. It also has a 0.3MP camera with LED flash at the back, 128MB of internal storage, a microSD slot, and a 1450mAh battery. As for the operating system, it runs on Mocor RTOS. For old Nokia fans, it even has the iconic Snake mini-game.
Speaking of Nokia, the phone is being manufactured by HMD, and there will only be 5000 units available. It's obvious the Boring Phone isn't intended to be a serious product line. But if you want to pay homage to old Nokia flip phones or have something cool to show your kids, this phone may interest you.
Is the Boring Phone something you would get? And if so, why? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
