JOHOR BARU: A local man who tried to get a RM10,000 personal loan from what looked to be a legitimate credit leasing company was instead duped into losing RM1,000.
“Shortly after that, I received a call from a man named Ng, who asked me how much I wanted to borrow and requested for my particulars to check if I am eligible,” Wong said. A week later, a man named Razali, who claimed to be from the leasing company, contacted Wong through voicemail, asking for RM800.
Wong made a police report the day after and sought the assistance of Tay, who proceeded to call the men.
