Menurut Institut Kajian Kesihatan Nasional Britain yang mengeluarkan sebuah laporan awal berkenaan kesan jangka panjang Covid-19 mengatakan terdapat satu persamaan di kalangan pesakit Covid-19 ini. Samada pesakit tersebut menghidap Covid selama 7 bulan atau lebih, simptom yang sama boleh dikesan pada satu bahagian tubuh seperti jantung atau paru-paru. Sebelum ia reda akan muncul pula pada bahagian lain.
Menurut LongCovidSOS, sebuah kumpulan pesakit dari Amerika Syarikat, mengatakan data daripada aplikasi pengesan simptom yang dirangka oleh King’s College London menunjukkan 10% daripada pesakit Covid-19 masih tidak sihat selepas tiga minggu, manakala 5% daripada mereka masih lagi sakit setelah berbulan-bulan.
Untuk laporan awal ini, pasukan Dr Maxwell telah pun mengadakan kumpulan berfokus seramai 14 orang di Facebook yang dinamakan Long Covid.
