Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad berkata, projek pelan jangka panjang Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh itu masih memerlukan beberapa kajian lanjut sebelum dilaksanakan termasuk dari segi keperluan kepada penduduk.
“Di Ipoh setakat ini, trafik tidak tinggi dan tempat letak kereta pun tiada masalah. Malah, pusat membeli-belah pun menyediakan tempat letak kereta yang mencukupi,” katanya dalam sidang akhbar selepas Majlis Penyampaian Insentif Kecemerlangan Akademik dan Sukan Atlet Negeri Perak di Dewan Serbaguna, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, di sini hari ini.
“Kajian kena dibuat daripada sekarang berkaitan jajaran sama ada melalui celah-celah rumah atau terkena rumah orang. Kerajaan negeri juga tiada kemampuan untuk bina LRT dan perlu ada kerjasama dengan pihak swasta secara PFI. Mereka pun akan buat kajian adakah berbaloi pelaburan itu nanti,” katanya.
