MMA says the state needs to increase its rate of testing for Covid-19. FMTNews Covid19 MMA

Sporadic Covid-19 cases are on the rise in the Klang Valley although daily infection rates have been dropping steadily.

MMA president Dr Subramaniam Muniandy said he was especially concerned with sporadic cases in the Klang Valley. He said the high rate of infection in Selangor suggested that there were many people with Covid-19 in the community who had not been detected yet. This meant the state needed to increase its rate of testing and could therefore use more help from the federal government.Former deputy health minister Dr Lee Boon Chye said mass testing should be followed through with identification, testing and isolation of close contacts.

Lee also said mass screening must be targeted and should be done for high-risk populations and at locations linked to community transmissions.
