Exco says agencies are carrying out probe on discharge by manufacturing plant in Jenjarom.

SHAH ALAM: A battery factory in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat near here, will be ordered to shift its operations to a more suitable location if it is found to be discharging hazardous waste that has polluted the drainage and waterways there.

“The Department of Occupational Safety and Health has also been instructed to take blood samples of the factory workers,” he said in a statement here today. Following an investigation by DOE on Sept 12 and 13, 2018, operations at the factory were suspended for two weeks after it was found that its effluent treatment plant was not functioning properly.
