KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional should form the government through its own mandate in the coming general election, says Sabah MCA.

State party chief Lu Yen Tung said following the 14th General Election , Barisan suffered a downfall but in 2020, it came back into government through the Perikatan Nasional coalition. He said this during his speech at the Barisan Nasional convention at the ITCC Hall in Penampang near here on Saturday .

“In fact, in the spirit of solidarity and for the sake of political stability, we supported Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia as the prime minister in 2020 but we were instead called a backdoor government,” he said. Speaking further, he said there was no place for extreme politics that harped on sensitive issues including racial sentiments.
