Kota Kinabalu: Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar negeri Datuk Christina Liew menyuarakan kebimbangan serius terhadap insiden lemas terbaharu di Pulau Mamutik baru-baru ini.

Insiden yang berlaku pada Ahad itu melibatkan seorang pelancong lelaki warga China yang menyertai aktiviti Selam Skuba Pembelajaran .Dalam satu kenyataan Selasa, Liew berkata aktiviti itu dijalankan di zon rekreasi yang ditetapkan untuk snorkeling dan berenang.

Liew berkata beliau juga akan mengadakan sesi libat urus antara pihak berkepentingan pelancongan, Lembaga Pelancongan Sabah dan Taman-Taman Sabah. “Kementerian saya memberikan keutamaan kepada semua isu keselamatan dan akan terus memastikan semua pihak berwajib memainkan peranan masing-masing, dalam menjaga keselamatan semua orang,” tambahnya.Beliau juga mengenal pasti bidang untuk penambahbaikan, termasuk bilangan dan kapasiti dive master, serta kecekapan dan disiplin menyelam dan renang peserta.
