angkatberat tokyo2020 Atlet angkat berat negara bakal terlepas beraksi di Sukan Olimpik Tokyo selepas badan induk antarabangsa sukan berkenaan menghalang wakil Malaysia dan Thailand menyertai temasya itu.

Persekutuan Angkat Berat Antarabangsa berkata dalam satu kenyataan atlet daripada dua negara berkenaan tidak akan mengambil bahagian di Olimpik Tokyo tanpa mengira sebarang perubahan tarikh.

Temasya berkenaan ditangguhkan selama setahun berikutan pandemik Covid-19 dan tarikh baru menyaksikan ia akan diadakan dari 23 Julai hingga 8 Ogos 2021. Persekutuan Angkat Berat Malaysia dan badan induk Thailand boleh melakukan rayuan kepada Mahkamah Timbang Tara Sukan dalam tempoh 21 hari. PABM digantung selama setahun namun penggantungan berkenaan akan dinilai semula seawal 1 Oktober 2020.

Lapan atlet angkat berat Thailand, termasuk dua penyandang juara Olimpik, diuji positif berikutan menggunakan bahan terlarang di Kejohanan Dunia tahun lalu.
