Australia rancang gubal undang-undang denda media sosial sebar berita palsu Asia LUARNEGARA TERKINI

SYDNEY: Australia bersedia menggubal undang-undang untuk memastikan syarikat media sosial bertanggungjawab kerana gagal menghapuskan maklumat salah dan palsu daripada platform mereka.

Memetik laporan akhbar The Age, di bawah peruntukan undang-undang yang dicadangkan, kerajaan akan dapat mengenakan kod baharu ke atas syarikat yang berulang kali gagal memerangi maklumat salah dan palsu atau memenuhi standard industri bagi memaksa platform digital membuang kandungan berbahaya. Penalti maksimum bagi pelanggaran sistemik kod itu ialah A$2.75 juta atau dua peratus daripada perolehan global, mengikut mana-mana angka yang lebih tinggi, menurut laporan itu.

“Kerajaan pimpinan Anthony Albanese komited memastikan rakyat Australia selamat ketika berada dalam talian, termasuk memastikan Australian Communications and Media Authority mempunyai kuasa yang diperlukan untuk memastikan platform digital menjelaskan kesilapan dan maklumat salah mengenai perkhidmatan mereka,” kata Menteri Komunikasi Michelle Rowland, menurut The Age.
