KUALA LUMPUR: Former auditor-general Ambrin Buang told the High Court in Najib Razak’s 1MDB audit report trial today that the National Audit Department had to do “abnormal things” in making changes to the report after receiving instructions from the chief secretary to the government at the time, Ali Hamsa.

The meeting was also attended by Najib’s principle private secretary at the time, Mohd Shukry Salleh, senior treasury officials, officials from the Attorney-General’s Chambers and former 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy.Ali previously testified that Najib was unhappy with the contents of the audit report as he did not want the mention of two conflicting financial statements.
