KUCHING: The Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) has condemned the Easter Day bombings in Sri Lanka and calls for the right to life and religious freedom to be upheld.

Expressing its shock and sorrow at the attacks, ACS said it denounced such cruel and senseless acts of terror on innocent victims and offered sympathy and prayer for the victims.

"A day of great joy for Christians turned into a day of deep mourning and sorrow," it said in a statement on Monday . ACS said the right to life and religious freedom was the"most sacred" of human rights and must be respected by everyone, regardless of race and creed.
