PETALING JAYA: Mufti Perlis, Asri Zainul Abidin mengajak rakyat menandatangani petisyen menyokong pengharaman kumpulan pendidikan Cina, Dong Zong selepas pertemuan dengan Exco Pemuda PPBM Muzzammil Ismail hari ini.
Menurut Asri, Muzzammil bertemunya untuk berbincang mengenai usaha mendesak pengharaman Persekutuan Persatuan-persatuan Lembaga Pengurus Sekolah Cina Malaysia.Petisyen “Rakyat Malaysia Desak Dong Zong Diharamkan” dilancarkan oleh Kelab Bunga Raya Malaysia pada 12 Ogos lalu dan sudah mengumpul lebih 74,500 tandatangan setakat berita ini ditulis.
Ia dilancarkan selepas Dong Zong dibidas sebagai pertubuhan rasis oleh Perdana Menteri Dr Mahathir Mohamad susulan kontroversi tentang pengenalan tulisan Jawi di sekolah aliran. Keesokannya, satu lagi petisyen “Rakyat desak kerajaan haramkan Dong Zong” dilancarkan oleh Gerakan Pengundi Sedar dan sudah mengumpul lebih 163,000 tandatangan setakat berita ini ditulis.
