Asean co-operating effectively in curbing Covid-19

THE Association of Southeast Asian Nations entered 2020 with a lot of difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic but the initial success in curbing the spread of the disease in the region has proved effective intra-regional co-operation, said Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen Lt Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh.

According to Vietnam News Agency , Vinh made the statement during the Asean defence senior officials’ meeting working group video conference in Hanoi on May 12, which aims to promote Vietnam’s initiatives as Asean chair in 2020 and prepare for the Adsom video conference slated for May 15.
