AS hantar tentera ke Saudi, Iran ikrar musnah penyerang

Major Jeneral Hossein SalamiH berikrar Iran akan memusnahkan mana-mana pihak yang mahu menyerang negara itu.

Pentagon berkata penghantaran itu akan melibatkan pasukan yang sederhana – bukannya beribu-ribu anggota – dan akan menjadi pertahanan utama. Reuters sebelum ini melaporkan Pentagon sedang mempertimbangkan untuk menghantar bateri anti-peluru berpandu, dron dan lebih banyak jet pejuang.“Sebagai tindak balas kepada permintaan kerajaan, presiden telah meluluskan penggunaan pasukan AS, yang akan bersifat defensif dan memfokus kepada pertahanan udara dan peluru berpandu,” kata Setiausaha Pertahanan AS, Mark Esper dalam taklimat berita.

Pengumuman mutakhir Pentagon ini muncul sebagai penutup pintu kemungkinan akan ada serangan balas terhadap Iran berikutan serangan minggu lalu, yang telah menjejaskan teruk pasaran global dan mendedahkan jurang utama dalam pertahanan udara Arab Saudi.
