Arrests make refugees afraid of taking Covid-19 tests, says Suhakam

UNDOCUMENTED workers, asylum seekers and refugees fear coming forward for Covid-19 tests following arrests by the authorities, despite earlier promises not to do so, said the Malaysian Human Rights Commission today. The commission said that despite the government’s assurances that there will be no arrests or detention during the crisis, it was reported that these arrests do indeed still occur.
